Paper on GBS lineage specific genes associated with virulence published in mBio
Congratulations to MPRU postdoc Andrea Gori and collaborators for their recent publication in mBio! The paper highlights lineage specific genes associated with virulence and niche adaptation in Streptococcus agalactiae (GBS/Group B Streptococcus). Andrea's pan-GWAS analyses revealed that genes involved in quorum sensing and nutritional virulence promote hypervirulence of cc17 strains. Please find this open access paper at the publisher's site.
