Supplement on the early impact of PCV in African countries published in Clinical Infectious Diseases
Clinical Infectious Diseases published a supplement on the early impact of pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCV) in various African countries. This supplement contains 15 articles and was guest edited by a panel of experts, including our MPRU postdoc Dr Brenda Kwambana-Adams and our MPRU senior investigator Professor Martin Antonio. Overall, introduction of PCV has made a positive impact in reducing pneumococcal disease among young children in many African countries. However, vaccine escape remains a concern and continued survelliance is advised. Please read the reports at the publisher's site.
