Senior PIs are encouraged to use their own grant funding if possible to cover flight costs. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like to apply for travel funding from the MPRU and please indicate the amount needed.
Funds will be awarded subject to availability on a first-come first-serve basis with priority given to early career investigators and students. Flights for early careers and students will be fully funded and flights will typically be booked through UCL’s travel agent.
The MPRU will cover the cost of accommodations in either a standard hotel room or a hotel chalet room (single occupancy), including all meals. Room preferences are subject to availability and will be given first-come first-serve.
Childcare and caring responsibilities reimbursement
Under the strategic partnership of Research Councils UK (RCUK), each of the UK’s seven Research Councils now allow childcare or caring responsibility costs to be claimed as allowable expenses if the costs are incurred for working outside normal working patterns, such as attending a conference.
The MPRU is pleased to announce that the NIHR has agreed to follow suit. Up to £200 per family may be reimbursed to help offset caring costs to enable an attendee to come to this conference. To be eligible, you must attend the entire conference and there must be a receipt for the cost.
